I’m slightly torn on Dose.
It’s a case of the piece could just end there where I’ve left it and I could let people imagine what happens next with the character. However I could also keep going and talk about the after affects of being outside the social norm.
I wanted to create a world where things are highly regimented and standard for most people. Not out of government control but more out of just what’s acceptable to society. How many times have we wanted to have a wake up pill after all, or something that made the working day bearable?
Then what happens if you go to one or the other side of the spectrum?
Initially I was going to have the main character stop taking the pills because of forgetfulness after losing her boyfriend but I think being forced and denied is an easier plot device.
I shall muse on this for a couple of days before I make a decision about whether to come back to this story or not.
